IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES............. East Prairie Junior High is elated to announce that our 7th and 8th Grade Boys Basketball Teams are able to bring home some hardware tonight. The boys both managed to overcome a deficit in the later minutes of the game to win the right to be called the Scott Mississippi County Champions for the next year.
The seventh grade boys team was able to best the Oran Eagles in the final minutes of the game to win. During the regular season Oran was one of only two teams that were able to beat the Eagles, tonight however the EP Eagles were able to overcome the talented Oran team. The seventh grade team ended the season tonight 12-2 winning their conference championship!!!
The eighth grade boys team also competed tonight in their conference championship game. They faced off against one of their only 2 losses this season the Hawks from Kelly. The aggressive style of basketball that East Prairie plays landed them in foul trouble early but with some help from the bench the Eagles were able to over come the Kelly hawks by controlling the basketball 1 minute 46 seconds of the over time 2 minutes. This allow them to pull ahead and leave the game with a big win! We are very proud of them and the sportsmanship that was displayed by all teams tonight (sometimes the adults can learn a thing or two from the kids). The eighth grade Eagles end the night 13-2 on the season winning there conference championship in overtime.
