My Why:

As early as I can remember my parents were school teachers. In fact, my parents started teaching when I was in second grade. Their passion for working with students who had special needs was evident all of my school career so it was no surprise that my senior year of high school I took a cadet teaching course. That experience sealed the deal for me and I knew that teaching was going to be my passion. Not only did I pursue a career in education but my wife, my sister, my brother-in-law, and my sister-in-law also were/became educators. We are a family of educators who truly have a heart for kids. Over the years my belief that all students, regardless of their ability or station in life, deserve access to a quality education that inspires them to set and attain goals that will help them achieve their dreams. As a school leader I work each day to remove obstacles that can be a barrier to learning, foster a school environment that is inclusive for all students, and challenge our students to look beyond themselves at the endless possibilities the future holds for each of them.

About Me:

My family and I are Southeast Missouri natives. In my spare time, you will find me engaging in many outdoor recreational activities including hunting, fishing, camping, and kayaking. As an avid outdoorsman, I believe the best way to decompress is to get out in nature. My wife and I love to trout fish, as well as deer and turkey hunt together. Although we spend numerous, relaxing hours hunting and trout fishing in our native state, we have fished as far west as the Yellowstone River, Montana. During our summer vacations, we love to "off-grid" camp in the Bridger-Teton National Forest at the foot of the Grand Teton Mountains, as well as spend time in Yellowstone National Park. My wife, Leigh Ann is a long-time educator and currently works as Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education at Jefferson College. We have raised three children. Our oldest daughter, Madison is a graduate of Missouri Baptist University, is married, and works as a Specialized Care Manager with Missouri Alliance for Children In Families in Southeast Missouri, while our daughter Baleigh is finishing her last year at Missouri Baptist University majoring in Biomedical Science (Pre-Med). Our son Drew is currently attending Jefferson College studying Computer Information Systems. We are a family of faith who depends on the wisdom and guidance of a higher power to direct our daily lives.
