ABOUT ME:
I grew up in a small town in central Illinois and graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 1994.  I attended Eastern Illinois University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I always wanted to be a teacher; although, as a young child it was just because I wanted to write on the chalkboard.  As I grew older I realized that teaching would allow me the opportunity to make a large impact on the lives of young children.  I began my teaching career in 1999 at R.A.Doyle Elementary school where I taught second grade for 17 years. I also taught fifth grade for one year and was a Title I math teacher for two years in the East Prairie School District. I adore young kids and being able to teach, encourage, and love all of my students like they were my own has been an incredible experience.

I earned my Master's degree in Administration from William Woods University in 2016.  I am looking forward to my new journey as the Assistant Principal at East Prairie Elementary. This new journey gives me the opportunity to collaborate and lead amazing teachers in educating all of our little Eagles.

During my free time I enjoy watching my son and daughter play sports, watching my husband coach basketball and reading books.
