THATS RIGHT EAGLE BASKETBALL WILL GO TO BLOOMFIELD!!!!!!! We will travel to Bloomfield, MO to play in the 61st Annual Bloomfield Christmas Tournament. IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES............. East Prairie Junior High is elated to announce that our 7th and 8th Grade Boys Basketball Teams are able to bring home some hardware tonight. The boys both managed to overcome a deficit in the later minutes of the game to win the right to be called the Scott Mississippi County Champions for the next year.
The seventh grade boys team was able to best the Oran Eagles in the final minutes of the game to win. During the regular season Oran was one of only two teams that were able to beat the Eagles, tonight however the EP Eagles were able to overcome the talented Oran team. Through much deliberation we have decided that all JH basketball athletes and cheerleaders will leave the JH School at 2:45PM to make the trip to Oran, MO for the tournament this evening. The 7th grade boys team will be playing at 4:00PM. The 8th Grade will be playing at 7:45. Hope to see you all there supporting the Eagles.
I would like to add a personal thank you to all of those that have been working to make sure that the JH Boys team and Cheerleaders are taken care of while on the trip to Oran [in no specific order] Gary Scott, Steve Stokes, Mandy Dean, Colton Triplett, Cole Byassee, Ashley Jernigan, and Dana Ellis. 15 students are job shadowing today at local businesses for FBLA in honor of American Enterprise Day. Students are observing careers such as doctor, nutritionist, LPN, dental hygienist, entrepreneur, police officer, teacher, physical therapist, and electrical engineer.
After today's seed meeting the Scott Mississippi County Tournament brackets are complete. The 8th Grade team was seeded 2 out of 7 teams and will play at 1:30PM on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017. It's almost that time of the year!!! Nope, I'm not talking about Turkey time.... Basketball season is upon us and we could not be happier. The Eagles plan on showing their skills this coming Friday, Nov. 17th against East Carter County and Kelly. The Lady Eagles will get their start little later and we are looking forward to seeing what this season will bring for all of our basketball athletes.
Parents please be aware that your student athletes have been given a picture order form for pictures these pictures will be taken during picture retake day on Wednesday November 8th. They will need to bring the money and form that day. Thank you!
The Eagles ended their 2017 Football season with a great first half defensive effort against the Greenwave. The Eagles finished 5-6 for the season. The athletic department could not be more proud of the effort that was seen on Friday night. We thank you for the time that you all have put in this season Coaches and Players. We will miss the seniors and hope to see them this basketball season. Thank you Eagle Cheerleaders for your chants, cheers, decorations, and motivating words this season.
